The wishing wellIf you are looking for an active holiday we have lots of “ active”

Walking. The Hadrian’s Wall national trail and the Cumbrian coastal way both nearby along with numerous guided and unguided walks around the city centre.

Cycling. The Cumbrian cycle way, the Hadrians cycle way and the Reivers cycle way all near or just enjoy the quiet, flat country lanes all around us.

Horse riding. A local newly opened Equestrian centre www.bousteadhillec.co.uk

Golf. Several top class courses can be found in and around Carlisle and at Silloth on Solway.

Swimming. The pools in Carlisle has 3 heated swimming pools and a Victorian health suite or there is a private pool to hire by the hour 2 miles from us by making arrangements with Longburgh Pool on 01228 576435 or visit www.longburghpool.com and quote “Staying at the Old Mill” for a discount.

Dining out. The area has many fine traditional Cumbrian pubs serving bar meals, whilst in the city centre there are all manner of good restaurants and bistros.

Relaxing by the beckAnd of course if you are looking for “ not so active”, you can do just that in the cosy atmosphere of The Granary or relax the day away in the garden.
